Big Sur’s Post Ranch Inn sits on 100 acres of rugged coastline and offers 40 guestrooms and suites, many of which are standalone units with private entrances. The property’s layout and low room count provide ample space for social distancing while supporting a holistic approach to guest health and safety.

Renowned for sustainable hospitality, Post Ranch Inn has expanded its wellness practices into an exclusive cleaning and air-quality regimen called Premium Purity. Developed in collaboration with Denmark-based ACT.Global, Premium Purity is a non-toxic, sustainable system designed to maintain cleaner indoor air and continuously reduce microbial presence on treated surfaces.
The Premium Purity program uses a two-step protocol. First, staff apply ACT CleanCoat, a photocatalytic treatment, to indoor surfaces exposed to light. That coating creates a self-disinfecting surface by accelerating photocatalytic reactions that help decompose microorganisms, including bacteria, mold spores, viruses and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Once applied, the coating continues to act for up to 12 months, reducing contamination and contributing to improved indoor air quality.

The second step applies ECA Water, an electrically charged water-and-salt solution used as an all-in-one sustainable cleaner and disinfectant. This additional application further sanitizes surfaces and supports ongoing protection without relying on harsh chemicals. Together, the two steps form a comprehensive approach to keeping indoor spaces cleaner and safer for guests and staff.
“Post Ranch Inn is investing in a long-term clean air solution, with Premium Purity’s ability to transform surfaces into an active cleaning asset, creating a healthier indoor environment, which is a key preventative measure when discussing overall health, in addition to this specific viral threat,” said Bill Hayward, founder of The Hayward Score and an authority on indoor environmental quality. Hayward, who serves on the Post Ranch Inn Advisory Panel, emphasized that the program aims to maximize health benefits for guests and staff while minimizing environmental impact.

By combining secluded accommodations, sustainable practices and an evidence-based cleaning program, Post Ranch Inn aims to deliver a calm, health-focused experience that aligns with both guest expectations and contemporary standards for indoor environmental quality.
