Qatar Airways Expands U.S. Network with Three New Destinations

Qatar Airways is expanding its United States network with three new nonstop routes from its Doha (DOH) hub to Los Angeles (LAX), Boston (BOS) and Atlanta (ATL). These additions will bring Qatar’s nonstop service to all ten of the largest U.S. metropolitan areas.

Beginning January 1, 2016, Qatar Airways will operate daily nonstop flights to Los Angeles using its flagship Boeing 777. The aircraft will offer a two-class cabin, including 42 fully lie-flat business class seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration.

Service to Boston will commence March 16, 2016, with daily flights operated by Qatar’s newest long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350 XWB. The A350 will feature 36 business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, each with an 80-inch fully flat bed and a 17-inch HD in-flight entertainment screen.

Atlanta will be introduced as a new daily route on July 1, 2016, also served by the airline’s flagship Boeing 777.

“As Qatar Airways continues its global expansion, we are delighted to be offering even more gateways in the United States, connecting passengers from destinations across the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Africa and Southeast Asia,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways Group.

In response to rising demand on the New York (JFK) route, Qatar Airways will add a second daily flight to New York starting March 1, 2016. The additional service will operate with the Airbus A350 XWB, while the existing daily flight will remain on the Boeing 777.
