Staying comfortable and relaxed in flight is essential for business-class travelers, and airberlin has upgraded the premium experience with new amenity kits designed in collaboration with Wolfgang Joop’s lifestyle label Wunderkind.
The silver-gray leatherette kits were created exclusively for airberlin and include several of Wunderkind’s signature items. Inside passengers will find lip balm and facial moisturizer, plus practical comfort accessories such as a sleeping mask, toothbrush and socks.
For long-haul business-class guests, the airline has partnered with Berlin’s historic spirits maker MAMPE to serve handcrafted cocktails onboard. Three cocktails are prepared in front of passengers: the Berlin Breeze — a mix of apricot and orange liqueur with grapefruit lemonade and mint — which is also sold in cans on medium-haul flights for €4, and two other creatively named drinks, Plane of Ice (Fliejer uff Eis) and Sparkly Plane (Fliejerprickel).
Airberlin’s redesigned business-class cabin delivers an elevated level of comfort. The cabin features 19 fully flat seats that provide enhanced privacy and direct aisle access. Each seat includes a high-resolution 15-inch personal entertainment monitor with both touchscreen and easy-to-use remote control, offering more than 200 hours of films, TV series, documentaries, games and music. Dining is presented as a multi-course gourmet menu, with main dishes curated by Sansibar, one of Germany’s most celebrated restaurants.
Additional premium benefits include allowance for a second piece of cabin baggage, access to partner lounges worldwide, double mileage accrual for topbonus members, priority status and boarding, and private chauffeur service on selected routes.
A special Discover Europe promotion runs through Sept. 21. Travelers can book round-trip flights to Europe from $599, including all fees and taxes, from airberlin’s U.S. gateways in Chicago, Fort Myers, Miami and New York. Travel is valid for flights between Nov. 1 and March 18, 2016.
