Passport renewal is a hassle many travelers avoid, but a new app aims to make the process much easier.
ItsEasy, an organization focused on simplifying travel documents, has released an updated mobile app for iOS, with an Android version arriving soon. The app streamlines several steps involved in renewing a U.S. passport so users can complete tasks quickly and securely from their phone.
Key features include taking a compliant passport photo, checking visa requirements, storing emergency contact details, and setting renewal reminders. To reduce time spent at the post office, the app generates a USPS shipping label for your application. Users can choose to receive passport photos either by mail or email. The app also provides status updates so you can track where your renewal is in the process.
David Alwadish, CEO and president of ItsEasy.com, said in a press release that the company invested significant time refining the app. His goal was to give U.S. passport holders a secure, convenient way to renew from an iPhone, and the updated app introduces new components designed to improve usability and reliability.
The app is priced at $29.95. For many users, the convenience of guided photos, automated labels, reminders, and status tracking makes the fee a worthwhile trade-off for saving time and reducing paperwork stress.
