Radisson Blu Opens in Philadelphia: Luxury Downtown Hotel Guide

Good things come in threes, and completing Radisson Blu’s trio of U.S. properties is the newly renovated Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel, Philadelphia. Housed in a circa-1926 building in the desirable Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, the 301-room hotel reopened after a $20 million restoration that both honors the property’s history and adds contemporary comforts. A dedicated Business Class floor features a private lounge offering complimentary breakfast and evening refreshments, making it well suited for travelers who need quiet workspaces and added conveniences.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Warwick has been carefully restored and updated while retaining its architectural character. Dining options include three restaurants, among them The Prime Rib, which pairs a bold leopard-print carpet and live jazz with an atmosphere that evokes a 1940s Manhattan supper club.

The hotel’s interiors reflect the distinctive, urban-edgy sensibility of designer Jim Hamilton of Glasgow-based Graven Images, who also led design work for Radisson Blu’s properties in Chicago and at the Mall of America. The lobby glitters with striking art installations that frame fireplaces at each end, pendant lighting crafted by Dutch and Canadian artisans, and high-backed “Ro” chairs by Fritz Hansen, creating a layered mix of classic and contemporary elements.

Guestrooms feature thoughtful, locally inspired details such as artwork incorporated into headboards, reinforcing a sense of place. Together, the restoration, public spaces, dining venues, and business amenities aim to deliver a full-service hotel experience that respects the building’s history while providing modern comforts for both leisure and business travelers.
