Lufthansa is expanding its winter route network with additional sunny destinations for the upcoming season. From December 8 through April 11, 2016, the airline will operate twice-weekly flights from its Frankfurt (FRA) hub to three popular holiday cities: Cancun (CUN), Malé (MLE) and Mauritius (MRU).
The new winter schedule will be served by Airbus A340-300 aircraft configured with a three-class cabin layout: business class, premium economy and economy. Each aircraft offers 292 seats, providing a range of options for leisure travellers seeking warm-weather getaways during the northern hemisphere winter.
These seasonal connections aim to meet increased demand for long-haul leisure travel over the winter months, giving passengers direct access from Frankfurt to Caribbean beaches, Indian Ocean islands and tropical resorts. The twice-weekly frequency allows for flexible planning while maintaining convenient connections to Lufthansa’s global network through its Frankfurt hub.
Passengers can expect the carrier’s standard onboard services across the three cabin classes, including enhanced comfort in the business and premium economy cabins and comprehensive inflight amenities in economy. The use of A340-300 aircraft balances capacity with range for these long-haul sectors.
By adding Cancun, Malé and Mauritius to its winter timetable, Lufthansa strengthens its portfolio of holiday destinations and offers travellers more options for sun-focused escapes between December and April.
