The Ananda in the Himalayas, a renowned wellness retreat, has unveiled new luxury accommodations and stylish renovations to several of its premier suites.
The renovation project was designed to enhance the guest experience by emphasizing the resort’s natural surroundings and creating a peaceful, harmonious atmosphere. Following these updates and additions, the retreat now features 64 rooms, three private villas and eight suites.

Guests can now choose the newly introduced Deluxe Suites, which offer views across the Rishikesh Valley or the Maharaja’s gardens. Two Deluxe Suites feature private balconies for relaxing outdoors, separate living areas, full-length mirrors, bathtubs and large windows framing the surrounding scenery. The Garden Suite adds an exclusive private garden and outdoor deck for guests seeking complete seclusion.
In addition to the new suites, the refurbishment included significant updates to the Ananda Suite and the historic Viceregal Suite. The expansive Ananda Suite overlooks the valley and includes a private garden with a gazebo, ideal for dining or unwinding outdoors. The Viceregal Suite retains its period charm while offering a private terrace and a rooftop gazebo with views over the resort gardens and the nearby Ganga Valley.

Aashica Khanna, director of Ananda in the Himalayas, described the guiding philosophy behind the upgrades: the design aims to harmonize each space with the surrounding landscape, creating an immersive setting that fosters relaxation and renewal. Responding to guest demand for larger, more comfortable accommodations, the retreat reconfigured its offerings to include two generous two-bay Deluxe Suites and a private Garden Suite, while updating the classic Ananda and Viceregal suites. These improvements are intended to provide visitors not just with lodging, but with a restorative sanctuary in the Himalayan foothills.
