Priority Pass Introduces In-App Wayfinding for Airport Lounges

Independent airport lounge access provider Priority Pass has added an indoor wayfinding feature to its mobile app that helps members locate lounges and services within major airports.

The new functionality is enabled through a partnership between Priority Pass’s parent company, Collinson Group, and indoor-mapping specialist LocusLabs.

At launch, the integration covers several major hubs: Dubai (DXB), Hong Kong (HKG), London Heathrow and Gatwick (LHR and LGW), Singapore (SIN), Manchester (MAN), Amsterdam (AMS), Los Angeles (LAX), Mexico City (MEX) and İstanbul (IST). Collinson and LocusLabs plan to extend coverage to additional airports over time.

In addition to turn-by-turn guidance to lounge locations, the app provides contextual information such as alerts about busy security lanes, service recommendations and push notifications offering exclusive discounts. These features are designed to help travelers make smarter decisions about their time in airports and smooth the journey from arrival to lounge access.

“Feedback from Priority Pass members consistently highlights the opportunities that contextually aware mobile technologies can create as we look at smart ways to help an increasingly choice-rich traveler to make the very best use of their time at airports and other transportation hubs,” said Christopher Evans, joint CEO of Collinson Group. He noted that LocusLabs’ mapping and location services will play a significant role in enhancing the travel experience for customers and clients.

Priority Pass currently provides access to around 1,000 airport lounges across more than 500 cities worldwide, and this mapping upgrade aims to make that network easier to navigate for members on the move.
