Florida’s fall calendar is full of festivals and events celebrating beer, cocktails, films, music, fashion and fitness. South Walton leads the season with a slate of happenings across its 16 distinct beach communities, offering something for every interest—from culinary and arts experiences to fitness and style-focused gatherings.
Baytowne Beer Festival, Oct. 14–15
The Baytowne Beer Festival returns to Sandestin for its ninth annual, two-day celebration dedicated to beer. With more than 40 breweries and nearly 200 domestic and international varieties, the event centers on tasting sessions paired with appetizer options. A Saturday VIP package includes access to a pre-party, lunch and priority entry. General admission begins at $30; VIP tickets start at $60. Every ticket includes a complimentary tasting glass.
Sparkling Wine and Holiday Lights Event, Nov. 19
The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin ushers in the holiday season with a sparkling wine tasting and festive street celebrations. Guests can sample more than 30 Champagnes while enjoying live holiday entertainment, preview glimpses of the tree lighting and small bites from local restaurants. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is offering special event accommodation packages, with rates beginning at $139 per night for attendees.
Nashville Songwriters Florida Sunshine Tour, Oct. 6–8
The Nashville Songwriters Florida Sunshine Tour returns for its seventh year at the Village of Baytowne. This free concert series spotlights songwriters who perform the hits behind today’s country stars and share the creative stories behind those songs. Acoustic sets highlight chart-topping material associated with artists such as Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and Faith Hill, giving fans an intimate look at songwriting craft.
South Walton Fashion Week, Oct. 5–9
South Walton Fashion Week, now in its fourth year, brings national and local designers, boutiques and models together at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. The program includes pop-up parties, trunk shows, style lounges and special shopping opportunities. Headlining the week is designer Christian Siriano of Project Runway fame, who will present a trunk show at Caliza Pool in Alys Beach and offer selections at Alys Shoppe. Advance tickets range from $50 to $1,260, depending on events and access levels.
MountainFilm on Tour at WaterColor, Nov. 4–5
The 19th annual MountainFilm on Tour arrives at WaterColor Marina Park Amphitheater for two nights of documentary screenings. Attendees can bring blankets and enjoy hot cider or cocoa while watching films that explore environmental issues, daring adventures and powerful political and humanitarian stories. Kidz Kino at WaterColor’s LakeHouse offers a program for children six and older with age-appropriate films. MountainFilm tours roughly 100 destinations worldwide to inspire audiences through independent films focused on impact and empathy.
30A Half Marathon and 5K, Oct. 23
The inaugural 30A Half Marathon and 5K take runners along scenic Highway 30A, starting and finishing at Gulf Place. Participants will pass coastal landmarks, dune lakes and iconic beach communities while competing on a flat, picturesque course. Presented by 30A, a well-known travel brand and social media influencer, the event charges $60 for the 5K and $90 for the half marathon.
30A 10K and Fun Run, Nov. 24
The annual 30A 10K returns as a Thanksgiving-week tradition and one of South Walton’s largest fundraising events. Festivities span three days, beginning with packet pickup, lawn games and entertainment. On race day, runners follow a route with views of the Gulf of Mexico, Camp Creek Lake and surrounding beach communities. The weekend finishes with a Black Friday Shopping Spree that gives participants a chance to win prizes from race sponsors by submitting photos of their shopping around South Walton. Entry fees are $25 for the fun run and $60 for the 10K.
