What better way to start a busy day in corporate Toronto than with a solid night’s sleep, a focused workout and a nutritious breakfast? The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto delivers on all three. During my stay I loosened tight muscles in the calming yoga studio, pushed my cardio at the 24/7 fitness centre and swam laps in the saltwater pool before relaxing in the spa’s dry, hot sauna.
For a clear head and sharper focus, I made my way to the Club Lounge, which looks out over the CN Tower and Lake Ontario. The sweeping views include passing boats and the city’s island airport, providing a serene backdrop while I planned a busy day. Breakfast in the Club Lounge is self-service and well suited to a demanding itinerary, offering a variety of options to fuel a long morning of meetings.
I’d booked the hotel’s house car in advance, and it proved convenient for short trips across the city — a quick, comfortable ride to a few nearby meetings and an off-site lunch. The service made it easy to move between commitments without the hassle of parking or rideshares, and I was back at the hotel in time for an afternoon appointment.
On my return I headed to the DEQ Terrace and Lounge, the hotel’s stylish bar and lounge. The space offers two distinct atmospheres: an outdoor seasonal terrace focused on Cuban-inspired food and cocktails, and an intimate indoor area with elegant seating ideal for quiet conversation by the fireplace. Sun filtered through, speckling the patio chaises in a secluded corner of the terrace, and I decided that spot would be perfect for a five o’clock meeting — relaxed, private and with just the right ambiance for winding down the day.
