When crossing the Mississippi River, consider traversing the historic Chain of Rocks Bridge. Famous in Route 66’s heyday for its unusual 30-degree turn halfway across the mile-long span, the bridge is closed to motor traffic today but makes an excellent place to stretch, walk, or take a bike ride while enjoying river views.
