Ta Prohm, in Cambodia, is an ancient temple that once served as a Buddhist monastery and center of learning. Largely left in the state in which it was found, its atmospheric mix of stone ruins and trees growing through the architecture makes it a compelling destination. The temple gained wider recognition as a filming location for Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider, and today it remains a popular stop on Angkor archaeological tours.
