InterContinental Ljubljana Set to Open in 2017: What to Expect

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of InterContinental Ljubljana, a new addition to the brand’s global portfolio that will expand IHG’s offering in 2017. The hotel is planned as a prominent urban and architectural landmark and will bring IHG’s upscale hospitality to Slovenia’s capital.

The property will feature 165 guestrooms and will be operated in partnership with Delta Holding. It will be situated near the shopping and business district along Dunajska Cesta and within easy reach of the city’s historic and tourist attractions around Prešeren Square and the iconic Triple Bridge.

Construction is scheduled to begin by the end of the year. Guestroom accommodations will range up to a presidential suite, and the hotel will include extensive event facilities such as two banquet halls each capable of hosting 500 guests and six flexible meeting rooms. For leisure and wellness, the development will offer a fitness center and a full-service spa. On the 21st floor, a restaurant with outdoor dining will provide panoramic views of Ljubljana.

Marija Desivojević Cvetković, vice president of strategy and development at Delta Holding, commented that the InterContinental hotel combined with IHG’s global reputation will offer guests high-quality rooms, outstanding leisure facilities and dining options delivered by a professional team committed to world-class service. She added that the property is expected to become a preferred choice for both international and domestic travelers visiting Slovenia.

IHG currently operates 30 properties across Europe and has five additional hotels under development in the region, with InterContinental Ljubljana strengthening the company’s presence in Central Europe.
