Bodysgallen Hall & Spa Named AA Hotel of the Year for Wales

Possibly as close to Narnia — the fictional realm of magic and myth created by C.S. Lewis — as you can get, Bodysgallen Hall is a sprawling estate with a manor house and spectacular formal gardens on the western slope of Wales’ Pydew Mountain, near Conwy Castle. With a tower that dates back to the 13th century, the property combines medieval architecture and centuries of garden design. Highlights include a rare 17th-century parterre of clipped box hedges, a rookery, a walled garden, several ornamental follies and a formal rose garden.

The main house offers 15 individually styled bedrooms and suites that reflect classic country manor decor, furnished with antiques and offering views across the parkland and gardens. In addition, there are 16 cottage suites on the grounds, three of which are dedicated spa cottages. Complimentary Wi‑Fi is provided throughout, and tea and coffee trays are available on request.

Guests can enjoy a range of luxury services and bespoke arrangements, including golf bookings at any of three nearby courses, prepared picnic hampers for outings, and chauffeur-driven cars for local sightseeing. The estate’s two dining venues are overseen by Head Chef Michael Cheetham. The Dining Room, located in the manor’s main hall, has earned three AA Rosettes for its cooking and service.

Situated on the northern coast of Wales, about two miles from the seaside town of Llandudno, Bodysgallen Hall is owned by the National Trust. Income generated by the property supports the maintenance of this and other historic houses and aids the conservation work of the National Trust charity.
