Designed specifically to meet the needs of active women travelers, AdventureWomen has entered an exciting new chapter. The company was recently acquired by Wineland Trio — Wineland-Thomson Adventures Inc. president Judi Wineland and her daughters Erica Landerson and Nicole Wineland-Thomson Quinones. Judi Wineland brings decades of experience in women-focused travel: she founded Overseas Adventure Travel in 1978 and later launched Thomson Safaris, Thomson Family Adventures and Thompson Treks with her husband, Rick Thomson.
For 2017, AdventureWomen’s featured itineraries showcase a variety of active, culturally rich experiences. Highlights include a Nepal trekking program in the Himalayas that combines a low-altitude, lodge-based trek with river rafting; a France walking trip through the Loire Valley with countryside hikes and wine tastings; an Egypt and Jordan journey titled Wonders of the World that pairs a Nile River cruise with visits to major archaeological sites; and an Alaska Bear Viewing and Wilderness Odyssey offering immersive, guided excursions into grizzly bear country.
To mark the ownership change and celebrate the company’s next phase, AdventureWomen has launched the AdventureWomen ROCK sweepstakes. Travelers have the opportunity to enter through Nov. 15 for a grand prize that can be applied toward one of AdventureWomen’s 2017 departures.
