Passengers at Helsinki Airport can now find a calm, private place to rest amid the bustle of travel with the addition of GoSleep sleeping pods. Helsinki Airport is the first airport in Europe to introduce these Finnish-designed pods, which feature an ergonomic seat that converts into a flat sleeping surface.
The pods are designed for convenience and comfort: passengers can stow hand luggage beneath the seat, charge electronic devices at an integrated outlet, and draw a cover to reduce light and noise for a more restful nap.
“We want to offer passengers an opportunity for stress-free travel and short rest between flights,” says Heikki Koski, vice president at Finavia, Helsinki Airport. “Many of our travelers are in transit, may have gone without sleep for extended periods, or are adjusting to a new time zone. I expect this service to meet real demand.”
Helsinki Airport currently provides 19 GoSleep pods, located near gates 18 and 38. Pillows and blankets are supplied for added comfort.
