Delta Air Lines and Airbnb have partnered to help travelers “fly global, live local,” giving SkyMiles members the chance to earn miles on all Airbnb bookings worldwide when accommodations are reserved online.
Airbnb connects guests to more than 2.5 million homes across 190+ countries, enabling travelers to stay and live like locals. Delta, the largest U.S. global carrier, has teamed up with this extensive accommodations network to expand options and rewards for its customers.
SkyMiles members can earn miles on Airbnb bookings for stays of any length — a night, a week or a month — making the Fly Global, Live Local experience more rewarding. The collaboration increases choice and provides a straightforward way to accrue miles while staying in authentic local accommodations around the world.
“We are excited to partner with Delta and offer their travelers the opportunity to earn Delta miles when staying and hosting on Airbnb, while creating memorable moments with friends and family,” said Lex Bayer, head of business development at Airbnb. “SkyMiles members can now enjoy the additional benefits of living like a local with authentic travel experiences on Airbnb in all global destinations that Delta serves.”
Members can earn miles by booking Airbnb stays directly online. Travelers who are not yet enrolled in the SkyMiles program can sign up for free to become eligible. Reward details include one mile per dollar spent on qualifying stays, up to 1,000 bonus miles, and a $25 Airbnb coupon toward a qualifying first stay for new Airbnb guests. New Airbnb hosts may also qualify for bonus miles of up to 25,000.
Beyond consumer benefits, Airbnb has named Delta a preferred airline supplier for transporting employees on company business. Delta is also the exclusive airline sponsor of the annual Airbnb Open event in Los Angeles, providing special discounts for attendees and hosting a branded lounge space at the event.
