New Luxury Hotel Opens in the Swiss Alps: What to Expect

The Ritz-Carlton announced the completion of the renovation of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva, marking the luxury brand’s first property in Switzerland.

Previously known as Hotel de la Paix, this 152-year-old landmark has undergone a multimillion-dollar redesign and refurbishment, ushering in a new chapter for one of Geneva’s most elegant and historic hotels.

Perfectly positioned on the shores of Lake Geneva, the hotel offers striking views of the Jet d’Eau and Mont Blanc. Throughout its history it has served as a gathering place for the International Congress of Peace and as temporary accommodations for notable guests including members of the Monaco royal family and the actor Orson Welles.

The architecture and interiors blend contemporary design with timeless tradition, guided by a concept that celebrates art, time and nature. Walls are adorned with tapestries depicting influential figures associated with peace, while guestrooms feature clean, modern furnishings and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Suites pay tribute to distinguished past visitors, including Grace Kelly, reflecting the property’s storied past in a refined, modern setting.

Culinary offerings showcase both international and regional influences. Fiskebar presents a Nordic-fusion dining concept, while Living Room Bar & Kitchen focuses on regional dishes prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The hotel also houses a Philippe Pascoët chocolate shop, presenting creations from the renowned Swiss chocolatier.

Guest amenities include lakeside meeting and conference spaces, a fully equipped fitness center, business services and a 24-hour concierge, all designed to meet the needs of discerning travelers and event planners.
