Finnair will increase its services to Thailand by adding three weekly flights on its Helsinki–Bangkok route for the 2014–15 winter season. From December 30, 2014, through March 27, 2015, these extra flights will raise the route’s total frequency to 17 flights per week, the highest number offered by any European carrier on the Helsinki–Bangkok sector. The additional services will be operated using two-class Airbus A340 aircraft.
“Thailand has long been a popular destination for Finns and other northern Europeans, and adding capacity will help us meet this enduring — and growing — demand,” said Pekka Vauramo, CEO of Finnair. He noted that Finnair’s position as the European airline with the most weekly frequencies to Bangkok and several other Asian destinations supports the company’s goal to significantly grow revenue from Asian traffic between 2010 and 2020.
Finnair’s Southeast Asia network also includes flights to Hanoi and Singapore, reinforcing the carrier’s focus on connecting Northern Europe with key Asian markets.
