Hyatt Regency Amsterdam Opens: What Travelers Need to Know

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced plans to open the first Hyatt Regency in Amsterdam in 2015. The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam will be situated in the city center near the Singelgracht canal and will offer 211 guestrooms, including 15 suites. The property will feature a restaurant, bar, lounge, fitness center, spa, and flexible meeting and ballroom facilities.

“The Hyatt Regency brand is a great fit for Amsterdam,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president of real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most important commercial centers and the continent’s sixth-largest metropolitan area, attracting both business and leisure travelers.”

The new Hyatt Regency will be the third Hyatt-branded hotel in Amsterdam, joining the recently opened Andaz Amsterdam and Hyatt Place Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Located in a prime central neighborhood by the Singelgracht, the hotel aims to serve international visitors and local events with contemporary accommodations and extensive amenities.

Designed to meet the needs of modern travelers, the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam will combine comfortable guestrooms and suites with public spaces intended for relaxation and socializing. The on-site restaurant and bar will provide casual and upscale dining options, while the lounge will offer a welcoming area for guests to meet or unwind. A fully equipped fitness center and spa will support wellness needs, and meeting and ballroom spaces will accommodate conferences, receptions, and private gatherings.

With its central location, the hotel will provide easy access to Amsterdam’s cultural attractions, business districts, and transport links. Proximity to the Singelgracht canal places guests within walking distance of historic neighborhoods, museums, and a variety of dining and entertainment choices. The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam is positioned to attract corporate travelers attending city meetings, as well as tourists seeking a well-located, full-service hotel experience.

By expanding its presence in Amsterdam, Hyatt continues to strengthen its portfolio in the Netherlands and across Europe. The addition of the Hyatt Regency complements the city’s existing Hyatt properties and underlines the brand’s focus on delivering consistent service, welcoming public spaces, and practical amenities tailored to both leisure and business markets.
