Ranch Photography Workshop: Learn Landscape & Outdoor Portraits

Whether you’re an amateur hobbyist or an experienced professional, the Rocky Mountain setting at 4UR Ranch provides rich inspiration for the Laurie Klein Infrared Photography Workshop (Aug. 25–31). Led by respected photographer, educator and author Laurie Klein, the weeklong workshop guides participants in discovering and refining a personal visual voice while offering practical insight into the creative process. Sessions are based in the San Juan range, with opportunities to shoot landscapes and work with professional models.

Beyond photography sessions, 4UR Ranch offers a range of activities to complement the creative experience. Guests can go horseback riding through Goose Creek Valley, try world-class fly fishing along a seven-mile stretch of private tail water, relax in the heated pool, or soak in the ranch’s natural hot springs. Accommodations are provided in the ranch’s Adirondack-style lodges, and all meals are prepared by chef Blake Bond, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Massage services are available for an additional fee.

The workshop package starts at $3,200 per participant, plus taxes. Non-participating companions may join for an additional fee of $2,250, allowing them to enjoy the ranch amenities and activities while participants focus on their photography. This immersive setting and expert instruction make the workshop ideal for those looking to expand their infrared technique and develop a stronger artistic vision.
