The Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau (ECCVB) has launched a campaign celebrating the region’s seafood culture and its fleet of 140 charter fishing vessels. The effort highlights both fresh, gulf-to-table dining and the plentiful fishing opportunities available to anglers—from the Gulf of Mexico to Choctawhatchee Bay and the area’s scenic bayous.
“What sets our destination apart is not just the abundance of fish you can catch year-round, but the exceptional quality of the seafood once it reaches your plate,” said Ed Schroeder, director of the ECCVB. “Our captains are among the best at helping you land that memorable catch, and our chefs know how to showcase the distinctive flavors of each species.”
The bureau has published a guide outlining top fishing spots across the region and the most effective techniques for each area. The guide also includes practical advice on booking a charter, securing the appropriate fishing license, and finding restaurants that specialize in gulf-to-table cuisine. Many of those restaurants participate in the Fish Trax program, which provides diners with transparent sourcing: a unique QR code served with the entrée reveals where, when and by whom the fish was caught.
This initiative aims to attract both seafood lovers who enjoy fresh, locally sourced meals and anglers seeking diverse fishing experiences. Between the well-equipped charter fleet and a network of chefs committed to serving the freshest catch, visitors can expect an authentic culinary and angling experience on the Emerald Coast.
