Westin Cape Coral Resort & Marina Village — Waterfront Hotel Guide

Arrival/Check-In: My check-in had a few humorous hiccups. I arrived at the expansive property and was promptly assisted by a friendly front desk attendant who offered a bottle of water or a soda—an appreciated welcome. I accepted the option to opt out of housekeeping in exchange for a food and beverage voucher, which I planned to use for a room-service lunch. Guests can also earn loyalty points by declining daily cleaning.

The real amusement began when I reached my first guestroom. The room appeared to have been used: an unmade bed, towels on the floor, and glasses with residue. Fortunately it was unoccupied, so I returned to the lobby and reported the issue. After being issued a new key and escorted to another guestroom, I discovered the keycard didn’t work. It took a third card and the attendant personally accompanying me to ensure the new room functioned properly. Throughout the process the staff remained apologetic and upbeat, which helped smooth over what could have been an irritating start.

Guest Quarters: The guestroom felt very spacious—more like a one-bedroom apartment than a standard hotel room. The layout provided generous living space and thoughtful separation between areas.

Immediately to the right of the entrance is a full kitchen, with an opening and a bar-like counter that looks into the dining and living area. I used the large six-person dining table as a work surface during my stay. A deck runs the length of the suite and can be accessed from both the living room and the bedroom, adding indoor-outdoor flexibility.

The bedroom featured a comfortable king-sized bed with nightstands on either side, positioned across from a dresser topped by a flat-screen television. Between the bedroom and the bathroom there is a small sink area and a large closet, which I used for dressing and for easy access to luggage and clothing. The bathroom is roomy and practical, with a separate water closet, a stall shower, a sink with ample counter space, and a stacked washer/dryer hidden in a small closet.

Services/Amenities: Families will appreciate the Westin Family Kids Club Discovery Room and activities offered through the Westin Family program. The fitness center is open 24 hours and a spa is available for treatments. The heated resort pool overlooks the Caloosahatchee River and provides views toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Dining options on the property include room service, Marker 92 Waterfront Bar & Bistro, and the Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill. The resort features more than 15,000 square feet of function space, and a new conference center is planned to open this year.

The resort is located in Marina Village near Tarpon Point and Tarpon Point Marina. A variety of shops—ranging from footwear to sweets—are within walking distance, and local dining options like Pinchers are nearby.

Top Takeaways:
◆ WiFi and cellular service were inconsistent in the conference facilities; several attendees mentioned the same issue.
◆ The resort’s dock makes it simple to join boat tours, such as day trips to Cabbage Key—boardings are only minutes away.
◆ Meals across the property—from room service and conference buffets to the closing dinner—were consistently fresh and well prepared.
