SAA Fall Flight Deals to South Africa — Save on Autumn Travel

With the exchange rate now above 13 South African rand to one U.S. dollar, it’s an excellent time for Americans to consider a trip to South Africa.

South African Airways is highlighting this value through its new Go See Southern Africa campaign, which features affordable packages and value-added programs. Participating tour operators are offering packages starting from $2,799 per person. The airline is also advertising reduced fares on direct routes, with round-trip prices from Washington, D.C. (IAD) to Johannesburg (JNB) starting at $839 and from New York (JFK) to Johannesburg starting at $879.

Value and variety

“South Africa combines nature, wildlife, culture, adventure, food and wine in one destination,” said Marc Cavaliere, executive vice president Americas for South African Airways. “With our special fares and the favorable exchange rate, travelers can choose luxury or travel on a budget and still have money left over for dining and shopping.”

To help travelers maximize their budgets, South African Airways Vacations is offering complimentary car rentals on its Garden Route Splendor self-drive itinerary, with rates starting from $3,399 per person. This itinerary encourages visitors to spend time in Cape Town and the nearby wine regions at their own pace, then drive along the False Bay coast and finish with a safari experience that includes a two-night stay at Kichaka Game Lodge.
