Ritz-Carlton Berlin Unveils Major Renovation and New Luxury Amenities

The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin has completed a €40 million renovation, unveiling newly redesigned guestrooms, suites, meeting spaces and public areas. The refurbishment also introduced a new restaurant, POTS, and draws inspiration from 1920s Berlin and the golden era of German cinema.

According to Lisa Holladay, global brand leader for The Ritz-Carlton, the renovation is a significant milestone for a hotel situated in a historically important location. The refreshed design evokes the gilded glamour of 1920s Berlin while reflecting the city’s evolving character. Staff will continue to deliver attentive, high-end service to guests visiting one of Europe’s most dynamic cities.

The lobby has been reimagined with classic materials and striking details: a marble and ironwork staircase, a marble fireplace, a crystal chandelier and a decorative wall inspired by Champagne glasses. The space is arranged to encourage gathering and conversation, with seating areas that recall the convivial atmosphere of a literary salon.

Guestrooms and suites were upgraded with contemporary comfort and practical amenities. Features include full-height headboards, dedicated makeup tables, discreet touchscreens to control in-room electronics and built-in charging stations integrated into seating areas to support modern travelers’ devices.

POTS, the hotel’s new restaurant, presents updated German classics prepared in an open-kitchen format. The restaurant includes a terrace with views over the Sony Center and Henriette-Herz Park, providing an attractive indoor-outdoor dining option. Additional on-site venues for food and drink include The Lounge, The Curtain Club and Fragrances Bar, each offering distinct atmospheres for guests—whether seeking a relaxed coffee, a spirited evening cocktail or a refined dining experience.

The renovation also reconfigured meeting and social spaces to better support events and gatherings, blending period-inspired elegance with contemporary functionality. Thoughtful finishes and flexible layouts create settings suitable for business meetings, receptions and private celebrations, while technology upgrades help ensure smooth presentations and connectivity.

Overall, the redesign balances historical references and modern luxury, aiming to honor the hotel’s legacy while meeting the expectations of today’s travelers. The combination of refreshed public spaces, enhanced guest accommodations and renewed dining concepts positions The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin to appeal to guests seeking both classic sophistication and contemporary convenience.
