Arrival/Check-in: The Condado Plaza Resort & Casino is two hotels in one. Two separate buildings are joined by a covered second-floor walkway, creating a single cohesive property while each tower retains distinct advantages. We arrived at the circular drive in front of the waterfront building. At the time of visit the arrival area felt stark and a bit unwelcoming, but management had already identified this and was actively addressing it with additional lighting and landscaping to create a warmer first impression. Another drawback was the placement of the entry door relative to the front desk: although the expansive lobby provides a direct view of the ocean, the front desk and entry were tucked into a corner near the elevator bank. That layout initially disappointed, but any concern faded once we discovered the full extent of the bright, ocean-facing lobby. (25/30)
Guest Quarters: The suite’s décor was surprising in a pleasant way. Despite the tropical, urban location, the room featured bold red and white tones with dark wood accents—a departure from expected island pastels that felt refreshingly modern after an initial adjustment. The large sitting area included a sofa, armchair, and coffee table, plus an adjacent guest powder room. A roomy work desk faced the window. French doors led to the bedroom and the bathroom/dressing area, which offered a giant whirlpool tub, separate shower stall, double vanity, and ample storage. The one downside was the view: the bedroom overlooked a lower-level rooftop and HVAC units. The living room opened onto a small balcony, but its outlook was limited by the adjacent building. Overall the accommodations were spacious and comfortable, with a thoughtful layout and pleasing finishes. (25/30)

Dining options include the StripHouse, an old-world steakhouse with a classic ambiance, along with multiple bars and casual eateries that create a convivial scene. The main swimming pool is family-oriented, yet landscaped nooks and secluded corners offer privacy for those seeking a quieter retreat. Guests wanting more tranquility can cross to the adjacent building for a smaller, attractively landscaped pool with a nice view over Laguna Condado.
