Radisson Blu will expand its upscale hotel network in Finland with two new locations opening under the brand next year. Solo Sokos Hotel Tammer in Tampere and Solo Sokos Hotel Aleksanteri in Helsinki are scheduled to rebrand as Radisson Blu during the first quarter of 2016.
Radisson Blu’s distinct presence in Finland has grown steadily since the brand launched in the country. Guests and industry observers have recognized the chain’s appeal: the Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel was recently named Finland’s Leading Hotel, and the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel received the title of Finland’s Leading Business Travel Hotel for a second time at the World Travel Awards.
“Based on strong demand and our distinctive positioning in Finland, Tammer and Aleksanteri are excellent additions to our dynamic Radisson Blu portfolio,” said Tomi Peitsalo, Regional Director for Finland at Radisson Blu.
The rebrand will integrate both properties into Radisson Blu’s upscale offering, bringing the brand’s service standards, loyalty program benefits and global distribution to Tampere and Helsinki. Guests can expect updates aligning each property with Radisson Blu’s design and hospitality approach while retaining features that reflect the hotels’ local character and history.
Adding these two centrally located hotels strengthens Radisson Blu’s footprint across Finland’s key urban centres, supporting leisure and business travel alike. The move reflects the brand’s strategy to grow selectively in markets where demand for premium accommodations is rising, and where existing hotel assets can be elevated through rebranding and operational alignment.
With these changes, travelers to Tampere and Helsinki will have increased access to Radisson Blu’s amenities, including on-site dining, meeting facilities and modern guest rooms, along with membership perks for frequent guests. The integration also enhances the chain’s capacity to serve corporate groups and international visitors through improved service consistency and expanded booking channels.
Radisson Blu’s expansion in Finland follows the brand’s broader efforts to adapt and grow in European markets, focusing on properties that combine local character with international standards. By bringing Tammer and Aleksanteri into the Radisson Blu family, the company aims to offer a consistent, high-quality experience to both domestic and international travelers while celebrating the distinctiveness of each hotel’s location.
