Virgin Australia brought extra glamour to Spring Racing Carnival attendees with its Hat Valet services, offering hair and makeup touches before guests boarded flights to Melbourne. Set inside the airline’s Sydney Lounge, the Hat Valet ensured premium handling of headpieces from the moment guests entered via priority access through to arrival at their destination.
To mark one of Australia’s premier sporting events, Virgin Australia provided a suite of pre-flight beauty options in the Sydney Airport lounge: professional blow-dries, hairstyling, makeup appointments and take-home ModelCo kits so guests could refresh their look throughout the day.
“Each guest will leave the Virgin Australia lounge with a special ModelCo touch-up kit so they can ensure they look fabulous all day while they’re trackside,” said Shelley Barrett, founder and chief executive officer of ModelCo.
On arrival, attendees were welcomed with sparkling wine and a selection of canapés. Male guests could also enjoy a shoe-shining service from Buffed, ensuring every detail of race day attire was attended to.
The Hat Valet and related services were available to business-class passengers and Velocity Platinum and Gold members traveling on selected Sydney-to-Melbourne flights between October 28 and November 5. Guests who used the Hat Valet hair and makeup services were invited to pose for a photo in front of a flower wall in the lounge and share it on social media using the tag #virginaustraliahatvalet.
By combining practical care for delicate headpieces with complimentary beauty services and hospitality, Virgin Australia’s Hat Valet added convenience and style for racegoers travelling to the Spring Racing Carnival, reinforcing the airline’s focus on elevated lounge experiences for premium customers.
