Ace Hotels Launches Sister City: A New Boutique Brand Experience

Located on the Bowery in New York City’s Lower East Side, Ace Hotel’s newest property is slated to open this fall. Sister City Hotel will present a distinct aesthetic and atmosphere compared with the group’s nine existing urban properties.

With 200 rooms, the hotel is conceived as a calm retreat from the bustle of the city rather than a space that actively invites the street inside. Housed in a former Bowery Salvation Army building, the property emphasizes a “less but better” philosophy, concentrating on travelers’ essential needs: comfort, thoughtful design and human connection, according to Ace Hotel partner and chief brand officer Kelly Sawdon.

The ground floor features a restaurant created in partnership with the team behind Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream, and the hotel also includes a rooftop bar. A garden at the entrance leads guests into the lobby and reinforces the hotel’s role as an urban haven designed for quiet and respite.

Guest rooms are modestly sized, ranging from 162 to 262 square feet, and nightly rates start at $259.
