Manhattan’s Crown Building, completed as the Roaring Twenties transitioned into the Jazz Age, is now home to Aman New York. Honoring that heritage, the hotel has opened The Jazz Club, accessible via a discreet entrance at 9 West 56th Street off Fifth Avenue. The 3,000-square-foot venue channels the spirit of Prohibition-era speakeasies while offering modern, state-of-the-art functionality.

Brian Newman, a musician and six-time Grammy Award nominee, is the creative director of The Jazz Club. The venue is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., with live music nightly from 7 to 10 p.m. and DJs from 10 p.m. until close. A 1962 Steinway baby grand piano is a centerpiece of the space, complemented by more than 150 loudspeakers and microphones and top-tier audio equipment. These features make The Jazz Club one of New York City’s most technologically advanced live-music venues.

The Jazz Club’s menu pairs refined small plates with inventive cocktails. Culinary highlights include beef tartare, seared A5 Wagyu, ahi spicy tuna and the signature truffled grilled cheese. Cocktail creations take inspiration from Aman’s global properties: the Jiwo blends pandan-infused mezcal with orange oil, while the Dayan mixes vodka with lemon, ginger and yuzu for a bright, citrusy profile.
Due to limited seating and the intimate nature of the space, reservations are required.
