Turkish Airlines Expands Asia Routes: New Destinations & Schedules

Turkish Airlines will expand its Far East network by launching regular service to Kathmandu (KTM), Nepal’s capital, beginning Sept. 1. The new route will be operated four times weekly in each direction: from Istanbul (IST) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, and from Kathmandu on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Flights will depart Istanbul at 9:45 p.m., arriving in Kathmandu at 7:15 a.m. The return sector will leave Kathmandu at 8:45 a.m. and touch down in Istanbul at 1:40 p.m. With the addition of Kathmandu, Turkish Airlines’ global network will cover 238 destinations across 104 countries.

This route expansion strengthens connections between Turkey and South Asia, offering travelers improved options for business, tourism and cultural exchange. The timing of departures and arrivals is designed to facilitate convenient onward connections through Istanbul’s hub for passengers traveling beyond either city.

Turkish Airlines continues to grow its international footprint, focusing on strategic markets where demand for scheduled services is rising. Adding Kathmandu responds to increasing travel interest in Nepal, from trekking and adventure tourism to business and diaspora travel, while also providing additional capacity and choice for passengers flying between Europe, the Middle East and South Asia.
