Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Names Final PlaceMaker of 2022

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has named Rosana Alvarez its final PlaceMaker of 2022. A sustainable farmer and educator, Alvarez represents Rosewood San Miguel de Allende in the brand’s PlaceMakers program, which supports local leaders who bring authentic cultural experiences to guests. The program reflects Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy and pairs each PlaceMaker with one of the brand’s pillars—Art & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Style & Design, Family & Lifestyle, Health & Wellbeing, and Sustainability—so visitors can explore destinations through locally rooted expertise.

A fourth-generation native of San Miguel de Allende, Alvarez co-founded Via Organica, a nonprofit dedicated to nutrition education, environmental stewardship and sustainable agricultural practices. In her role as PlaceMaker, she will collaborate with Rosewood San Miguel de Allende to create curated experiences such as guided visits to the Via Organica ranch, hands-on learning sessions, and locally focused farm-to-table activities. She has also prepared a destination guide to help Rosewood guests discover the region’s culinary, cultural and sustainable offerings.
