Movie fans planning to watch the Academy Awards on Sunday may want to visit a new page on the Leading Hotels of the World website. Launched to mark the Academy Awards’ 85th anniversary — which also coincides with the 85th anniversary of Leading Hotels — the page highlights 85 films that were shot at member hotels.
Featured locations span the globe and include Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California (Something’s Gotta Give), The Pierre, a Taj Hotel in New York City (Scent of a Woman), La Mamounia in Marrakech (The Man Who Knew Too Much) and Hotel Okura in Tokyo (Walk, Don’t Run). In each case, the hotels contribute atmosphere and authenticity, helping to immerse audiences in the movies’ stories.
In a related collaboration, Leading Hotels of the World recently partnered with the producers of the Italian film Viaggio Solo. Scheduled to premiere in Rome in March, the fictional story revolves around a made-up Leading Hotels brand and showcases seven real member properties from around the world.
