Fast-Track Customs Clearance: Get a Customs Quick Pass Today

The Port of Seattle and U.S. Customs and Border Protection have teamed up to accelerate border processing for U.S. and Canadian travelers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. With the installation of 14 automated passport-control kiosks, Sea-Tac joins several major airports offering expedited arrival services.

“This is the latest in our cooperative effort with CBP to provide simple, easy-to-use and customer friendly solutions to make the traveling experience as positive as possible,” said Charles Goedken, manager of international services for the Port of Seattle. “These kiosks help us meet the growing demand from an increasing number of international flights at Sea-Tac.”

Automated Passport Control (APC) requires no pre-registration, is straightforward to use, and adheres to strict standards for protecting personal information. As a result, international arrivals at Sea-Tac can expect shorter lines, reduced congestion, and faster processing times.

Eligible passengers who choose APC bypass the paper declaration card and initial document review. Instead, they go to a self-service kiosk in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection passport-control area. Travelers follow on-screen instructions to scan a U.S. or Canadian passport, answer the customs declaration questions via the touchscreen, and receive a printed receipt confirming their responses. They then proceed to a CBP officer to complete processing. Each kiosk can process up to four people who live at the same address together, making it easier for families and small groups to move through primary inspection.

This deployment at Sea-Tac complements other North American airports that offer automated passport control, expanding options for smoother entry and improved passenger flow across international terminals.
