British Airways Summer 2017: New Routes and Destinations

Good news for travelers planning summer getaways in 2017: British Airways is introducing more than ten new routes for the peak travel season.

These services will roll out at various times throughout the year, with all routes in operation by the summer months and departing from the airline’s hub at London Heathrow Airport. In Europe, the new schedule includes twice-weekly flights to Tallinn, Estonia (TLL), and to Murcia, Spain (MJV). Travelers seeking less-crowded French cities will welcome twice-weekly service to Nantes (NTE) and Montpellier (MPL).

Starting June 3, non-stop flights from London to Brindisi, Italy (BDS), and to Zante, Greece (ZTH), will operate twice weekly. Pula, Croatia (PUY), will be added to the network beginning July 1.

On the long-haul network, British Airways will launch service to New Orleans, Louisiana (MSY), beginning in March, and to Santiago, Chile (SCL), starting in January.

London Gatwick will also see new long-haul flights to Oakland, California (OAK), starting in March, introducing direct competition with Norwegian Airlines, which currently serves that route.

These additions expand British Airways’ European and intercontinental offerings, giving travelers more options for summer travel from London. Whether you prefer historic cities, coastal escapes, or transatlantic destinations, the airline’s updated schedule provides several new direct connections for 2017.
