KLM and Amsterdam’s Hotel De L’Europe are elevating KLM’s World Business Class dining this fall with a special menu crafted by two-Michelin-star Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge.
Available from Oct. 26 to Jan. 22, the seasonal menu blends international influences with distinctive Dutch ingredients and refined simplicity. Recently honored as Chef of the Year by Gault Millau, Chef van Oostenbrugge creates dishes that pair classical technique with global flavors, such as chicken medallions in a Thai coconut sauce and Dutch fillet of sole accompanied by a mussel sauce and Manjari chocolate mousse with black currants.
“We are delighted to be working with Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge of De L’Europe’s famed Bord’Eau restaurant,” said Paul Elich, executive vice president inflight services at KLM. “Like KLM, he is Dutch with an international flair.”
The collaboration highlights KLM’s commitment to offering refined, memorable meals in World Business Class, drawing on renowned culinary talent to deliver a dining experience that reflects both Dutch culinary tradition and contemporary, global tastes.
Passengers flying in World Business Class during the promotion can expect thoughtfully composed courses designed for in-flight service, balancing bold flavors and approachable elegance to suit long-haul travel. The menu showcases seasonal produce and carefully selected ingredients, emphasizing texture and harmony across each course.
This partnership between an established national carrier and a prestigious hotel restaurant underscores a growing trend in airline dining: collaborating with celebrated chefs to improve the quality and identity of onboard meals. The result is a dining program that aims to surprise and satisfy frequent flyers and occasional travelers alike, offering an elevated culinary experience high above the ground.
