ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We arrived at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center with little time to prepare for our Leisure Lifestyle Awards event. The valet made arrival effortless: I pulled up, handed over the car, and took the elevator up. The glass elevator ride to the top of the 1,121-foot, 60-story Comcast Technology Center was thrilling. Occupying the top 12 floors of Philadelphia’s tallest building, this hotel is the highest in North America. Just outside the elevator, a large wall of fresh flowers welcomes guests. The front desk staff greeted us warmly and check-in was swift.
GUEST QUARTERS: When we opened the door, the floor-to-ceiling curtains drew back automatically to reveal sweeping views of the city. I moved from one vantage point to another, admiring the panorama from every angle. The suite included a sofa that converted into a bed for my daughter, a dining table for four, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed separated by a substantial pocket door. The bathroom was generous in size, featuring a large shower and a soaking tub positioned before another set of floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can soak while taking in the view. Fresh floral arrangements added color and life to each room.
The in-room bar was well stocked, offering everything from sodas and waters to beer, a selection of spirits, and a fine bottle of Opus One Overture for red-wine enthusiasts. A walk-in closet with a makeup table opened into an oversized bathroom. My daughter was pleased to find a yoga mat available in the closet.
I didn’t have time for a long soak, but the shower was exceptional. It used push-button controls and delivered impressive water pressure. Afterward I slipped into a plush robe and reached for the hairdryer. The Dyson Supersonic provided rapid drying—my hair was dry in minutes—and there was a note indicating a replacement charge if the dryer was taken. I resisted the impulse to keep it, but I appreciated the quality. The following morning I discovered a second bathroom through another door in the main room, a welcome surprise for families or groups.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: The hotel’s fitness center offers one-on-one training and group sessions such as yoga or Pilates through The Lab, its health and fitness specialists. Don’t miss the heated infinity pool, which creates the sensation of floating above the city and is an unforgettable amenity.

Beyond the lobby is the entrance to JG Skyhigh, an ideal spot for a business lunch or after-work cocktails. The lounge is separated by a striking, waterfall-encased staircase that leads into Jean-Georges Philadelphia. There, Chef de Cuisine Cornelia Sühr curates inventive dishes you can enjoy while taking in panoramic city views.
TOP TAKEAWAYS:

- We enjoyed room service breakfast; the strawberry shortcake waffle with strawberry mascarpone, hazelnuts, and macerated strawberries is highly recommended.
