Chase’s New Ultimate Rewards: What It Means for Cardholders

Chase Card Services has added Singapore Airlines as a transfer partner for Chase Ultimate Rewards. This expands Chase’s roster of travel partners, which already includes airlines and hotel programs such as British Airways, United, Southwest, Korean Air, Amtrak, Hyatt, Marriott, IHG Rewards Club, The Ritz-Carlton and Virgin Atlantic.

Chase Ultimate Rewards is designed for cardholders who prioritize travel redemptions and flexibility. With Singapore Airlines now a transfer partner, cardmembers can convert Ultimate Rewards points into Singapore’s KrisFlyer miles and use them for travel on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, or any Star Alliance carrier, opening up routing options across six continents.

Eligible Chase cards — including Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus and Ink Bold — can transfer Ultimate Rewards points to KrisFlyer at a 1:1 ratio, meaning one Ultimate Rewards point becomes one KrisFlyer mile. Transfers must be made in 1,000-point increments, and there are no limits on the total number of points that can be moved. Transfers typically post to KrisFlyer accounts within two days, allowing relatively quick access to award inventory and redemptions.

In addition to point transfers, cardholders who book travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal may benefit from lower redemption rates. Eligible customers can effectively reduce required points by 20 percent when redeeming travel directly via Chase Ultimate Rewards, depending on card and booking terms. This combination of direct portal redemptions and the ability to transfer to KrisFlyer gives travelers multiple options to maximize value.

Adding Singapore Airlines strengthens Chase’s travel partner lineup by giving frequent travelers another premium carrier option, especially valuable for those seeking long-haul or premium-cabin redemptions. Transfers to KrisFlyer make award seats on Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance partners more accessible without changing the overall value of points, since the 1:1 transfer preserves purchasing power.

For travelers who collect Ultimate Rewards, the new partnership means more flexibility when planning international itineraries. Whether redeeming for economy connections or premium cabins, points can be allocated to the option that offers the best value for a given trip. Cardholders should check KrisFlyer award charts, partner award rules and availability before transferring points, since award space and pricing can vary by carrier and routing.

This partnership complements Chase’s existing travel benefits and encourages cardmembers to consider both the Chase portal and KrisFlyer redemptions when evaluating the best use of Ultimate Rewards points. With transfers generally completing within two days and no cap on transfers, the arrangement is convenient for booking award travel that requires relatively quick access to miles.
