Hainan Airlines Launches New Direct Route to New York

Hainan Airlines began nonstop service to New York (JFK) in October, launching flights from two Chinese cities: Chongqing (CKG) and Chengdu (CTU).

The Chongqing–New York route operates twice weekly, departing Chongqing on Wednesdays and Fridays and departing New York on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights are operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, configured with 36 lie-flat seats in business class and 177 seats in economy.

Hainan Airlines first announced the Chongqing–New York route in June and followed up with the Chengdu–New York service announcement in August. These transpacific additions expand the airline’s long-haul network and provide more nonstop options between western China and New York.

With the new JFK services, Hainan Airlines now serves nine destinations across North America. Its existing North American routes include Los Angeles (LAX), Las Vegas (LAS), Seattle (SEA), San Jose (SJC), Chicago (ORD), Boston (BOS), Toronto (YYZ) and Calgary (YYC). These connections offer a mix of business and leisure options for passengers traveling between China and major North American cities.
