Luxury HQ Resort & Residences to Replace Hodges Bay Resort in Antigua

HQ Hotels & Residences, the lifestyle hospitality brand led by entrepreneur Sam Nazarian, has partnered with Wyndham and its Registry Collection Hotels to relaunch the Caribbean’s luxury Hodges Bay Resort as HQ Luxury Resort and Residences. The rebranded property will introduce new on-site venues and amenities and bring Nazarian’s track record for innovative hospitality to Antigua’s north shore.

Since opening in 2018, Hodges Bay Resort has operated as a five-star retreat on Northern Antigua. Its new affiliation with HQ signals the start of a planned expansion of luxury lifestyle hotels and resorts designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers. The resort’s updated identity and offerings are scheduled to debut in late spring or early summer.

“As it begins its new chapter, Hodges Bay Resort and Spa will be transformed into a global beacon, attracting a new generation of aspirational travelers through an unrivaled social hub, unbeatable atmosphere and memorable vacation experiences, particularly for Wyndham’s over 110 million enrolled loyalty members,” said Nazarian, founder and CEO of sbe. “Expect the best of what sbe is known for: world-acclaimed dining concepts, elevated wellness and longevity offerings, best-in-class entertainment, and vibrant nightlife.”

Set across eight acres of tropical gardens and coral-sand beaches, Hodges Bay Resort and Spa will introduce new culinary, mixology and entertainment programs from sbe’s restaurant and hospitality groups. Planned concepts include the arrival of Katsuya Beach by Chef Katsuya Uechi and Hecho Libre by James Beard Award finalist Chef Wes Avila, alongside the much-anticipated return of the iconic day-to-night dining and nightlife concept XIV Beach Club.

XIV has grown into a cultural phenomenon—known for events like the original XIV Summer Sessions in Los Angeles and seasonal parties in cities such as Las Vegas and Miami. XIV Beach Club at Hodges Bay will reinterpret that signature experience on the resort’s stunning beach club islet, Prickly Pear Island, bringing elevated day-to-night programming to the Atlantic shoreline.

The addition of Katsuya Beach marks the brand’s 12th global location and continues Chef Katsuya Uechi’s nearly 20-year tradition of acclaimed culinary craftsmanship. The beachfront concept will focus on Katsuya’s celebrated classics alongside a menu tailored to the resort’s seaside setting.

Hecho Libre, developed by Chef Wes Avila and restaurateur Giancarlo Pagani, draws inspiration from Baja California and aims to deliver quality-driven Mexican cuisine. The concept emphasizes chef-crafted recipes that balance healthful ingredients and bold flavors, designed to appeal to contemporary travelers seeking authentic, elevated dining.

Hodges Bay Resort and Spa serves as a luxurious beachfront retreat and residential enclave along Antigua’s north shore. The property comprises 79 accommodations that include spacious suites, rooftop penthouses with private infinity pools, upscale residences and oceanfront villas—each designed to provide privacy and resort-style comforts.

With its refreshed identity as HQ Luxury Resort and Residences, Hodges Bay is positioned to become a preferred destination for discerning travelers and high-profile guests seeking a refined Caribbean escape in Antigua.
