Discover Ojai Art: Galleries, Workshops & Local Artists Guide

Autumn in California brings the annual Ojai Studio Artists Tour, running this year from Oct. 11–13. More than 50 artists will open their studios to visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the three-day event. Several studios will feature live demonstrations, offering a chance to see creative techniques and processes up close. A complimentary pre-tour program begins at 7 p.m. at the Ojai Center for the Arts, where OSA artist Karen Lewis will help attendees design personalized routes that match their artistic interests.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, the tour hosts a dessert reception with live music and an art basket raffle. Proceeds from the raffle support the OSA Artreach Program, which funds youth art scholarships and other outreach efforts. Featured artists this year include Carlos Grasso, Elisse Pogofsky-Harris, Christine Brennan, Maudette Ball Finck, Richard Matzkin, Theodore T. Gall, Brian Berman, Richard Flores, and Soni Wright. Tickets for three days of studio visits plus admission to the Saturday dessert reception are $25 in advance and may be purchased through the OSA website.

Whether you’re a longtime collector, a casual art lover, or simply curious, the Ojai Studio Artists Tour offers a chance to meet creators, explore varied studios, and discover original works across a range of styles and media. Demonstrations provide insight into different artistic methods, from painting and printmaking to sculpture and mixed media, while the pre-tour mapping session helps visitors make the most of their time by identifying studios that align with their tastes.

Plan for a relaxed day of wandering through Ojai’s neighborhoods, where you can engage directly with artists, ask questions about their practice, and purchase artworks straight from the source. The dessert reception on Saturday adds a festive note to the weekend, with live music enhancing the social atmosphere and the raffle supporting educational opportunities for young artists.

Advance tickets are recommended for those who want to attend the full three-day tour and the Saturday reception. The OSA’s Artreach Program, supported in part by raffle proceeds, prioritizes youth scholarships and community engagement—making each ticket a contribution to nurturing the next generation of artists. Join the Ojai Studio Artists Tour to experience local creativity, connect with artists, and support arts education in the community.
