Loews Regency Hotel New York: Luxury Midtown Manhattan Stay

Arrival/Check-In: Loews Regency Hotel is a classic New York City property on Park Avenue, known historically for popularizing the “power breakfast.” I stayed overnight earlier this year and found the arrival smooth and efficient. I checked in late afternoon and appreciated the prompt service since I had to change quickly for an evening engagement.

Guest Quarters: Recently refreshed, the hotel’s 379 guestrooms feature a soothing palette of gray, lavender and mineral green and are finished with upscale details such as Frette linens and marble-topped desks. Rooms are well-equipped for modern travelers, with smart televisions, complimentary WiFi, an iHome clock/radio and abundant outlets.

My luxury king room felt spacious by Manhattan standards. The bathroom, located to the left of the entry, offered a walk-in shower and Julien Farel bath amenities. Each guestroom bathroom includes a built-in television in the mirror, a convenient touch that let me catch the morning news while getting ready.

The centerpiece of the room was the king-sized bed with nightstands on either side. It was exceptionally comfortable and made it difficult to leave in the morning.

Business travelers will value several Loews Signature Amenities, including complimentary shoe shine, complimentary pressing of two garments on arrival, and access to a wide selection of newspapers and magazines through PressReader in the Loews Hotels mobile app.

Services/Amenities: My stay was brief, so I did not sample every offering, but I did use the 24-hour fitness center for a morning workout and found the facility well-equipped. Instead of a sit-down power breakfast, I stopped at Sant Ambroeus Coffee Bar for coffee and a yogurt to go. The on-site Regency Bar & Grill features seasonally focused, sustainable dishes from Executive Chef Catherine Medrano.

The hotel provides a Mercedes S550 house car for short trips within a 20-block radius on a first-come, first-served basis, and it welcomes pets. Additional on-site amenities include meeting and event spaces and the Julien Farel Salon & Day Spa.

The Experience: From check-in to departure, my stay at Loews Regency New York was seamless and enjoyable.
