Nestled at the foothills of Georgia’s Caucasus Mountains, the 150-acre, family-owned estate of Lopota Lake Resort & Spa has completed a thoughtful renovation of four accommodation buildings. Led by Tbilisi-based 10:10 Interiors, the redesign refreshed 84 rooms to bring Kakheti’s natural beauty and cultural heritage inside, reinforcing Lopota’s commitment to immersive travel experiences and design rooted in the region’s spirit.

The renovated rooms follow two distinct color palettes that pay homage to the landscape and traditions of the area. The first uses an earthy ash-clay tone inspired by the traditional qvevri clay vessels central to Georgian winemaking. This warm orange hue quietly references the region’s long oenological history and the continued use of qvevris at Lopota’s own winery, Château Buera.
The second palette embraces a soft pistachio green that reflects the property’s lush grounds, creating a calm, organic atmosphere that blurs the boundary between indoors and out. Every updated room opens onto a private balcony offering tranquil views of the resort’s greenery and the Caucasus peaks beyond.

The interiors strike a balance between refined minimalism and distinctive Georgian character. Clean architectural lines are warmed by artisanal touches: felt wall pieces by Georgian artist Mariana Chkonia add tactile texture while honey-toned wooden floors are softened with handwoven jute rugs.
A carefully curated mix of local and international craftsmanship defines each space. Custom furnishings from Georgian woodworking atelier Wood Crafters sit alongside classic design pieces such as Gervasoni’s Gray Bergère armchair, blending regional craft with timeless European elegance.

Bathrooms combine practical comfort with design interest: some feature a bold black-and-white checkered tile pattern, while others use a comforting mustard overhead paired with white metro tiles and wooden accents for a softer, modern look.
What began as a modest seven-room family retreat conceived by founder Goga Maisuradze has grown into a full-scale destination resort. Today Lopota offers more than 311 rooms and an extensive range of culinary, wellness, and leisure amenities. Throughout that expansion, the resort has kept its focus on authentic charm and handcrafted hospitality, visible in the attention to detail of the new interiors.
The renovated accommodations are distributed across four buildings and are offered in five thoughtfully arranged categories to suit solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups: superior king, superior triple, superior family triple, superior quadruple, and a spacious duplex room.

“While Lopota has grown in size with over 311 rooms, multiple restaurants, and a wide array of wellness and leisure activities, we are still committed to ensuring Lopota preserves its signature family-style hospitality,” said Ana Maisuradze, co-owner of Lopota Lake Resort & Spa. “The resort continues to evolve while honoring my father’s vision, offering meaningful stays that celebrate Georgian design, culture, and warmth, now with even greater attention to aesthetic detail and sensory comfort.”
