Ethiopian Airlines Launches Ireland’s First Boeing 787 Dreamliner Service

Ireland’s first Dreamliner service will link Addis Ababa (ADD) with Dublin (DUB) and Los Angeles (LAX) this summer. Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier, will begin three-times-weekly direct flights between Dublin and Addis Ababa and between Dublin and Los Angeles using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Scheduled to launch in June, these new routes will provide the only nonstop connections between Africa and Ireland and between Ireland and the U.S. West Coast, enabled by Ireland granting Ethiopian fifth freedom rights.

Passengers traveling from Ireland and Los Angeles will gain convenient access to Ethiopian’s broad African network, which serves 49 destinations across the continent. These services will create smoother connections and more travel options for both leisure and business travelers.

With Dublin added as the airline’s 11th European city and Los Angeles as its fourth destination in the Americas, Ethiopian Airlines will expand its international network to 85 destinations across five continents. The new Dreamliner routes reflect ongoing growth in long-haul connectivity and strengthen ties between Europe, Africa, and North America.
