TAM Airlines has announced a new international route launching this December. The carrier will operate flights between Brasilia, Brazil, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This route is part of the LATAM Airline Group’s plan to strengthen international connectivity across Latin America.
Services will be operated with Airbus A319 aircraft configured to carry 144 passengers. Flights are scheduled four times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight JJ8104 departs Brasilia (BSB) at 11:25 a.m. and arrives in Punta Cana (PUJ) at 3:45 p.m. local time. The return service, flight JJ8105, departs Punta Cana at 10:55 p.m. and arrives in Brasilia at 7:10 a.m. the following day (local times).
Brasilia’s airport offers efficient, direct connections to major Brazilian cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba and Porto Alegre, benefiting from the city’s central geographic location and hub role for domestic transfers.
“We are constantly expanding our foreign network. Following Toronto, Punta del Este and Barcelona, this is the fourth new international destination in 2015,” said Claudia Sender, CEO of TAM S.A. “This service also reinforces our commitment to strategically promote connectivity from Brasilia, where we recently launched non-stop flights to Orlando in the United States and to Buenos Aires in Argentina.”
Tickets for the new Brasilia–Punta Cana service are available for travel from December 5, 2015, through March 15, 2016. Services beyond that period are subject to authorization by Dominican authorities and will be confirmed once approvals are received.
