SAS Sponsors Swedish Music Festival in Los Angeles — What to Know

The first all-Swedish music festival in Los Angeles, Stockholm CA, was held at the Shrine Expo Hall and Grounds on October 15. The event celebrated Sweden’s vibrant contributions to music, design, film and television, bringing a strong slice of Swedish culture to Southern California.

The festival coincided with a major expansion by Scandinavian airline SAS. As part of its largest growth in history on routes to and from the United States, SAS introduced a direct Stockholm (ARN) to Los Angeles (LAX) flight and launched ten additional nonstop routes connecting Scandinavia with various U.S. cities. To highlight this expansion and strengthen cultural ties, SAS served as a sponsor of the festival.

Organized by 7th and Hill Productions in partnership with Goldenvoice, Stockholm CA featured a lineup of prominent Swedish artists across pop, electronic and indie genres. Performers included Veronica Maggio, Rebecca & Fiona, Salvatore Ganacci, Nause, AronChupa, Icona Pop, Little Dragon, Otto Knows, Elliphant and Mapei. The diverse roster underscored Sweden’s long-standing reputation for producing internationally successful musicians and innovators in the creative industries.

Beyond music, the festival reflected the growing cultural exchange between Sweden and the United States. With more than 4.5 million Americans of Swedish descent and ongoing migration between the countries, Swedish influence in the U.S. continues to expand. Events like Stockholm CA offer a platform for artists and audiences to connect and for Swedish culture to reach new American fans.

Hosting the festival in Los Angeles, a global entertainment hub, allowed Swedish artists to perform on a prominent stage while introducing attendees to contemporary sounds from Sweden. The collaboration between promoters, artists and a major airline sponsor helped create an event that combined live performance, cultural celebration and increased accessibility between the two regions through enhanced air service.

Stockholm CA showcased how cultural festivals can support international exchange. By bringing together established and rising Swedish acts, the event provided a snapshot of today’s Swedish music scene and reinforced cultural connections that are strengthened by improved travel links and continued interest in Scandinavian creative output.
