Through Oct. 4, the pop-up dining series Mile High lands in New York City with its Destination: London experience. Drawing on the glamour of the golden age of air travel, Mile High recreates the spirit of a weekend escape—great food, well-crafted drinks and a few stylish surprises—presented with classic London flair. Housed in a secret Lower East Side location, the first New York event is designed to evoke a traditional gentleman’s club, blending British refinement with a touch of eccentricity.
The curated menu offers a selection of refined British-inspired dishes. Starters include smoked duck breast and Stilton served with pickled walnut and chicory, alongside a delicate confit sea trout with oyster emulsion, dill and cucumber. A pearl barley dish with dill, cucumber and mustard adds a hearty, textural element. Main courses feature braised pork cheeks accompanied by lentils and watercress, and a savory cheese and red onion pie paired with the same lentil-and-watercress accompaniment. To finish, guests are treated to a classic treacle tart served with clotted cream.
Tickets are priced at $120 and include two glasses of Champagne Taittinger, bar snacks, a four-course meal, live entertainment and luxury travel-sized gifts from the English perfume house Penhaligon’s. The event balances a celebratory atmosphere with thoughtful, well-executed food and drink, making it an immersive short-form travel experience for London lovers and adventurous diners alike.
