Skip the Wait: How to Get Service Immediately

Dubai Airport has launched several initiatives to reduce waiting times at security checkpoints, aiming to make the security process faster and more efficient for passengers.

More than 100 automatic tray return machines have been installed in security screening areas. These machines are expected to reduce processing time by up to 50 percent by returning empty trays to the start of the screening lane automatically, keeping queues moving and shortening wait times.

To further speed up the screening process, passengers are encouraged to place metal-containing items into their hand luggage before reaching the checkpoint. Common items that can trigger delays include watches, jewelry, mobile phones, coins and belts; stowing these items in your bag ahead of time helps the security staff and keeps lines flowing.

In addition to the tray return machines, the airport has increased its customer service presence throughout the terminal. The number of “May I Help You” staff has been expanded to more than 1,000, providing guidance, directions and assistance to passengers to reduce confusion and improve the overall passenger experience.

The combined effect of upgraded equipment and increased staffing is intended to streamline passenger movement through security and improve on-time performance across the airport. Travelers can expect shorter queues and a smoother journey through the screening process as these measures take effect.
