Marriott Launches Home Rental Platform: What Travelers Should Know

Marriott has expanded into the home rental market with the launch of Homes & Villas by Marriott International. The collection features more than 2,000 upscale homes across roughly 100 destinations in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points on eligible stays at these properties.

The full launch builds on a 2018 pilot program in Europe. Guest feedback from that pilot shaped the selection criteria for homes included in Homes & Villas, with a focus on distinctive luxury properties and sought-after amenities such as private lakes, wood-burning ovens and other features that enhance the travel experience.

Homes & Villas expands the range of destinations where Bonvoy members can use and accrue points, including Italian destinations like Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, Caribbean spots such as St. Barts, and North Lake Tahoe in California. Each stay includes professional cleaning after departure, round-the-clock guest support and high-speed WiFi to meet modern traveler expectations.

“Our approach to home rentals allows us to curate an incredible collection of homes that deliver an elevated travel experience,” said Jennifer Hsieh, vice president of Homes & Villas by Marriott International. “By partnering with a select group of professional management companies that understand and operate in this dynamic landscape, we can focus on what we do best — selecting a wide range of homes in inspiring destinations, setting standards for responsive service and creating a seamless booking experience that helps guests navigate an increasingly complex home rental market.”

The offering targets travelers seeking the comfort and privacy of a full home combined with service standards associated with Marriott. With centralized support, curated property standards and Bonvoy integration, Homes & Villas aims to provide a consistent, reliable alternative to traditional vacation rentals for both leisure and family travel.
